Before DTPlab, we had many years of experience in the print, advertising, localization, publishing and design industries and knew the frustration of trying to work with people halfway across the world, in different time-zones and with language barriers. Then we thought: “So, why not do this nearby, like, in Brazil?” So, we elected São Paulo as a strategic hub to have our office and provide a fluid workflow experience for our clients. That is DTPlab, a place where “yes” means count on us and “done” means, what’s next.

From the beginning, we set out to create a DTP service best fit for Language Services Providers (LSPs) around the world and we also wanted to create an internal culture to match that of our clients’, who put a lot of effort translating and localizing their products, and don’t want the hassle of somebody messing it all up with non-consistent graphic capabilities and resources.

In the summer of 2010, a group of three designers joined forces to create the Desktop Publishing Lab, with the goal of working regularly with LSPs; To design a seamless work process and become an extension of our clients’ production team, enabling them to manage translation projects more effectively and maximize their productivity with low-cost and high-end results.

Our graphics designers and engineers are chosen from a large pool of highly qualified professionals and are carefully selected for each project, based on their level of experience and technical know-how.

The DTPlab team is not just there to do: We also think and express our opinions and ideas when it comes to strategic technical choices and for what’s best in long-term solutions. Our team cares and invests in our client’s company. You don’t get that with traditional “outsourcing” companies.

We have a staff of 6 with 10+ years of experience in the industry. We also have a pool of freelance "DTPers" that we can rely on for extra work volume.
